Since the land market started operating in Ukraine on July 1, as of September 6, 2021, 12,784 land agreements have been concluded.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, 4,882 notaries applied for access to the State Land Cadastre. There were 5,482 applications in total, 4,845 of them were approved, 5 were in the queue for consideration, and 632 were rejected.
Thus, for the period from July 1 to September 6 in Ukraine, transactions were registered in relation to 27.81 thousand hectares of land. Kirovohrad (3,329.2 ha), Kharkiv (3,320.7 ha) and Poltava (2,903.5 ha) oblasts are in the lead in terms of the area of privatized lands. Kyiv (1,156 agreements), Poltava (1,123 agreements) and Khmelnytsky (1,108 agreements) regions are in the lead in terms of the number of concluded agreements.
Currently, until 2024, only natural persons - citizens of Ukraine with a limit of 100 hectares - can buy agricultural land. The law on the land market prohibits foreigners from buying land. The issue of selling land to stateless persons and foreigners will be decided only in a national referendum.
